The University Centre is a ceremony location, reception venue and caterer in one. We are located in a restored mid-century building on the northern tip of the Point Grey Peninsula, close to parking, the UBC Rose Garden, Chan Centre, Wreck Beach and other UBC attractions.
Host your ceremony outdoors on the patio against a panoramic backdrop of the Georgia Straight and North Shore Mountains, in and amongst the romantic arbours and pathways of the UBC Rose Garden, or nearly anywhere else on the UBC Campus.

Come reception time, our dining room seats up to 250, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with an ocean view, original parquet floors and charming mid-century details. Our competitively priced menus focus on local and seasonal ingredients, prepared by our expert culinary team.

Sage Restaurant
Our most popular space for weddings at the University Centre. This large and bright space features floor-to-ceiling windows with an ocean view, Carrara marble bar, built-in AV, and charming mid-century architecture. Elegant entrance with fireplace & Okanagan wine barrels — perfect for creative displays, wedding favours, & presents. Opportunities for unique photography both inside & outside, against a backdrop of the cozy fireplace, breathtaking sunsets, and more. Features full bar, wheelchair elevator and all the amenities for a wedding to remember.

Sage Patio
Expansive patio with a view of the ocean and mountains, the perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony or outdoor cocktail reception. The patio is adjacent to Sage Restaurant on the main floor and overlooks a private reflecting infinite pool and lush green landscaping.

UBC Rose Garden
Easily one of the best-kept secrets in the city, the UBC Rose Garden is a favourite location for wedding ceremonies. The garden features unobstructed ocean and mountain views, more than twelve varieties of roses in bloom between June and September, and private access to Sage.
Seminar Room & Patio
Cozy and private top-floor room with warm wood accents, a large private patio, and arguably the best ocean and mountain view at Sage. Ideal for a bridal suite or small weddings up to fifty people. Queen Elizabeth stayed in this suite when she visited UBC in the 1960’s.

Ideas Lounge
Bright, modern space perfect for a small ceremony, cocktail reception, or action stations. High ceilings and floor to ceiling windows overlook the private Sage Courtyard, with easy access to the UBC Rose Garden. Ask us about the bald eagle who came to visit in 2020!

Sage Courtyard
Tranquil courtyard featuring a reflecting pool designed by Arthur Erickson and landscaping by Cornelia Oberlander. Newly renovated wood features around the courtyard make it a perfect backdrop for intimate ceremonies.
