Allergens and dietary preferences

We label priority allergens identified by Health Canada: egg, milk (dairy), mustard, peanuts, tree nuts, seafood (fish, mollusks and crustaceans), sulphites, wheat, gluten, soy and sesame. 

Please note that Sage Catering does not have allergen-free facilities. We cannot guarantee that food prepared on-site has not become cross-contaminated with allergens, and do not assume any liability for adverse reactions. The common allergens identified on our labels are based on ingredients listed in the recipe and may change due to ingredient or supplier substitutions. 

Dietary preferences are indicated by the following symbols or letters on our online ordering system, menus and event signage: 

Vegetarian

Menu items that fit a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, including eggs, dairy and honey. 

Vegan

Menu items that are made from plant-based foods only. Menu choices with this icon exclude eggs, dairy, honey and any other animal-derived ingredients. 

Without Gluten

Menu items that are made without ingredients containing gluten. Please note: We cannot guarantee that items made in-house are gluten-free due to the risk of cross contact. If you have celiac disease or a gluten allergy, please let us know.

Ocean Wise

Menu items using sustainable seafood which is caught or farmed in a way that ensures the long-term health and stability of that species. With Ocean Wise you are choosing an option that is best for the health of our oceans.  

Halal

Identifies menu items that contain third party Halal-certified protein.
